MOSO perforated strip type 50 E 420 as lintel reinforcement

General application in accordance with national technical approval

  • Horizontal reinforcement of lintels made of brickwork in non-load-bearing walls (facing shells)
  • Brick quality: Facing brick with compressive strength class 12, acc. to DIN 105-1 or DIN 105-2
  • Mortar quality: Standard mortar MG IIa acc. to DIN 1053-1
  • Facing stone thickness: 9.0 - 11.5 cm (at < 11.5 cm with joint skimming only)
Please note that sand-lime brick or other building materials not named in the approval may not be used, or only with special approval and according to special installation specifications!

Installation Instructions:

  • Unwind the MOSO perforated strip from the roll and cut to length with the hand metal shears

Cut length = clear width of the lintel + 2 x 36 cm anchorage length

  • Lay fully pointed brick-on-edge course/soldier course and incorporate perforated strip stirrups type LB 090 E 420 or LB 190 E 420 at intervals of 25 cm (see Fig.1)
  • Apply generous layer of mortar for the next stretcher course, apply perforated strip and press into the mortar
  • Bend the metal ends of the stirrups over the MOSO perforated strip (see Fig. 2)
  • Lay the stretcher course and for lintels, clear width 1.51 m, insert the back anchoring stirrups, type RVB into the vertical joints, alternately with one leg under the perforated strip at intervals of 25 cm (see Fig. 3). If using 2 MOSO perforated strips, arrange them in successive bed joints.
  • Support the lintel until the mortar has hardened.
On completion of the soldier course, the MOSO perforated strip is placed between the stirrups. The perforated strip stirrups are then simply bent over - job finished.

Please note:

  • It is permitted to install plastic strip above the lintel provided that the installation depth no greater than 25 mm (with 11.5 cm facing bricks) or 20 mm (with facing bricks <11.5 cm) (see Fig. 5).
  • Open vertical joints or other openings are not permissible within the height of the masonry above the lintel h0 .
  • As added securing for the brick-on-edge course or soldier course, an extra fixation with round bars ∅4 mm x 250 mm should be added on-site (see Fig. 6).
