Use and application

  • Masonry support for lintel openings
  • Wall connection fastening from masonry to masonry (butt joint technology)
  • Connection fastening from concrete to masonry (e.g. external staircase)
  • Crack protection at window and door openings, walls with vertical point load and connected structural parts of different heights
  • Crack protection for tiles covering joints or hollow spaces
  • Reinforcement of freestanding masonry walls (e.g. stable walls, partitions, noise barriers or garden walls etc.)
  • Reinforcement of prefabricated wall elements

MOSO perforated strip Convenient to use

The MOSO perforated strip is particularly useful when creating window and door lintels.

The preferred area of application for the MOSO perforated strip is masonry support over lintel openings.
The structural circumstances in such cases mean there are special technical conditions to be taken into account - these are fully met by the MOSO perforated strip.

MOSO perforated strip in a mortar joint as structural reinforcement during brick-laying.
MOSO perforated strip in a thin mortar bed joint.
MOSO perforated strip in a bond line for crack protection over expansion joints when laying tiles.
Perforated strip fastenings are suspended on the brick during brick-laying.

Wide range of applications!

  • Whether for settlement, shrinkage, compression or stress cracks, the MOSO perforated strip is the solution for eliminating visible cracks in masonry.
  • With certification from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) in Berlin, the MOSO perforated strip for masonry lintels is approved for use as a load-bearing reinforcing element.
  • The MOSO perforated strip is ideal as connection reinforcement from masonry to masonry or masonry to concrete.
  • The MOSO perforated strip can even be used under tiles. In particular for laying tiles on wooden floors.
  • The high-strength and thin stainless steel sheet profile with the dished holes is also suitable for thin mortar bed joints.
  • There is also a version available without dished holes for bond lines, so that even the reinforcement of joints with a joint width of 1 mm does not present a problem.

Virtually no wastage and hardly any overlaps!

The perforated strip is simply pulled out of the convenient storage and dispatch box and can be applied as required with virtually no wastage. Just cut to length with metal shears and use. The MOSO perforated strip can even be used around corners without the need for joints - simply bend round the corner and continue.

It doesn't matter whether the curvature of the holes is above or below the joint.

Further advantages of the MOSO perforated strip reinforcement!

  • Better interlocking action compared to conventional ribbed tor steel reinforcement in masonry mortar. This is due to the relatively large surrounding of the mortar plugs compared to the small external ribs of the ribbed tor steel. This was proven in a comparison test using 2 ribbed tor steels and a MOSO perforated strip.
  • Easy to transport and more compact to store compared to the bars used in other reinforcement systems.

Durable reinforcement for all structures

Using MOSO perforated strip (right) prevents large shrinkage cracks.

Critical spots, such as the junction points of supported steel beams (arrows), can be permanently secured using the MOSO perforated strip (right).

Prevention of notch stress cracks when connecting parts of a building of different heights through insertion of the MOSO perforated strip (right).

A wall reinforced with MOSO perforated strip (right) is structurally considerably more resistant to tensile and compressive stresses.

Use of the MOSO perforated strip in the masonry of a pitched roof (right) to minimise the width of cracks caused by shrinkage or thermal stresses.
